Blue-green glazed faience plaque depicting Sekhmet seated on a throne, wearing the royal wig with a serpent on top. She nurses the youthful ruler, either Horus or the pharaoh in the guise of Horus. A Horus falcon wearing a sun disc adorns the side of the throne. The plaque has two suspension or attachment holes along the upper edge. Repaired from two large original pieces with a very minor chip on Horus’ arm at the break line. A rare and beautiful example.
