Late Dynastic Period, 26th to 31st Dynasty, circa 664 to 332 BCE. 

A green glaze bandy-legged dwarf deity meant as a protector and a mitigator of violent natural forces. He holds arms to his portly abdomen, and has small birds flanking his ears and a winged protective Isis incised on the back.  Pierced for suspension at neck and enlarged head, and the top is capped by scarab beetle.  Overall wear and abrasions; feet gone.  Size 2-5/8 inches H. + custom wood block base.

Provenance: Ex Billy Pearson (1920-2002) Collection Acq 1960s from John Huston, the famous Hollywood director.
