Greek, Circa 600 to 575 BC

Round body on slender disc foot; thin cylindrical neck and twin loop handles. The decoration consists of two friezes of painted and incised animals; the upper band has swans amid fill ornament in the field. The main frieze has a panther, goat, siren and swan amid star fillers. A wonderful example.

Size: 5-3/4 inches (14.6cm) high.

Compare a very similar example in Arthur Fairbanks Catalog of Greek and Etruscan Vases in the Museum of Fine Arts Boston.
