Ulua Valley, or Petan  Ca. 500 to 800 AD.  Deep cylindrical vessel in brown and cream painted pigment and with a schematic PSS hieroglyphic band(primary standard sequence) incised under the rim which is highlighted in reddish pigment. Bottom exterior of vase has a mythological water bird carved to either side.  Size: 7-1/2 in H. x 5-1/8 diam at rim. Excellent condition with normal surface age signs. Choice.  Provenance:  Ex Tony G.  Florida Collection.
