West Mexico, Laguinillas,  Circa 300 BC to 200 AD.

Delicate clay figure of highly stylized form, kneeling. Overall cream painted body and eyes with mask like markings in brown pigment. Molded with loopy limbs, wide hips and hands across knees. A sweet piece.  Scattered strong mineral deposits on the surface.

Intact, excellent condition.
Size: 8-1/4 inches H.
Provenance:  Collection of Albert J. and Monique Grant, NYC., acquired 1950’s-1960’s, collection #780.
