West Mexico, Ca 300 BC to 200 AD

Fine pottery matching pair of male and female seated ancestor figures. The female is holding a bowl on her raised right knee. The male with arms crossed on top of his raised knees. Both wearing thick rope type head bands, fancy ear ornaments and nose rings. Painted black and white decoration and highlights. Overall strong mineral deposits on the surfaces. A nice quality pair.
